Intense Pulse Light (IPL)
Intense Pulsed Light offers a possible treatment for signs of ageing by sun damage, such as brown spots (pigmentation), redness (thread veins) and poor skin texture (collagen).
Pulsed light can help remove brown and red areas and stimulate production of new collagen.
It is particularly effective when combined with other clinic treatments such as Chemical Peels or Microdermabrasion.
Skin Peels
There are 3 categories of chemical peels:- light, medium and deep.
They all have one thing in common and that is they help remove the top layer of the skin.
At The Skin Clinic we offer Light and Medium peels only.

TCA Skin Peels (Medium Peels)
The Easy TCA Skin Peel is used to treat acne and acne scarring. A medium peel works in the same way as a mild peel but it simply peels to a deeper level. You can expect some mild swelling and some light peeling (similar to mild sunburn) for 3-5 days.
The peels are applied, one week apart and four skin peels are required.
Dermaroller™
Dermaroller™ Therapy can help improve the appearance of:
- Acne scars
- Aged and sun damaged skin
- Facial and décolleté lines and wrinkles
- Stretch marks
Dermaroller™ Therapy provides advanced micro-medical skin-needling, a procedure that helps stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally and safely.
Your practitioner will use a Dermaroller™ medical device to produce thousands of micro-medical needle-columns in the skin. Each column will penetrate into the dermis of the skin and will be approximately 0.1mm in width. The column will close rapidly enabling the skin to recover quickly – often in the same day. Your practitioner will use a topical anaesthetic to numb the skin making the procedure comfortable; it will normally take up to 30 minutes for the topical anaesthetic to work and 20 – 30 minutes for the Dermaroller™ Therapy procedure.
After a Dermaroller™ Therapy procedure your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface in the dermis. This takes time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply is enhanced. It can take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long lasting enhancement. (*)
Your practitioner will normally recommend that your Dermaroller™ Therapy consists of a series of 2 – 3 Dermaroller™ procedures with approximately 6 weeks between them.
In the treatment of acne scars and other types of scarring it may be necessary for your practitioner to extend your Dermaroller™ Therapy.
